earlier this evening the miss' and i watched sophia for the 15th time (but who's counting). they did an amazing show. 10 people on stage. extra singer (female, astrid something) and a string quartet. is was gooooood !!!!!!
really, i've seen them 15 times and for sophia i think this was one of the best performances yet. it was no god machine (seen them twice in '93 and '94) but fuckin A this was good .... at moments it reminded me of TGM. and not only the 'obvious' moments !!!
at the end, when they played the river song, the string quartet really got some amazing extra layering in there.
mood: happy, relaxed and very much inspired !!!
the next CD is finished now, the upcoming works will be for the dvd but who knows ....... maybe it's time to get the guitar out of the case ;-) my gorgeous handmade PRS *yammie*

The second and final mastering session for the forthcoming two-disc release YOUR SUFFERING WILL BE LEGENDARY took place today, and the audio component of the limited boxed edition of THE GOSPELS OF THE GASH has officially been completed.
Many thanks to my good friend Kevin Reilly at LAST STOP RECORDING & REHEARSAL for generously lending his seemingly endless expertise to this release. Kevin went above and beyond my expectations, pulling sounds and frequencies out of these tracks that were only just beneath the surface prior to this process.
Obviously, I also have to thank the artists who contributed to this amazing collection. These are the very final tracks to have been worked on using the NTT name, and they stand apart from my previous output in many ways, particularly due to an increased sense of maturity and musicality not found in any other NTT release. I am truly honoured and exceedingly fortunate to have collaborated with these individuals.
I proudly consider some of these tracks the best pieces of audio I have ever created.
The final tracklist follows:
BOOK III - NURTURED WOUNDS
I EVERYTHING I HAVE IS YOURS - NTT + AUN
II SOUL EATER - NTT + BLACK SUN
III THE LAST EUROPEAN (DAMNATION EDIT) - NTT + CENOTYPE
IV CULT OF DOOM - NTT + THE [law-rah] COLLECTIVE
V HEADWOUND - NTT + INSWARM
VI I WON'T SURVIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT YOU - NTT + COVET
VII AN EXERCISE IN PAIN-EXTENDED VERSION - NTT + AUTOCLAV 1.1
VIII ECLIPSED BY A BLUE STAR - NTT + HERBST9
IX KNOWING NO MERCY, THEY RAGE AGAINST MANKIND - NTT + HECATE
BOOK IV - THE SCHISM YAWNS WIDE
I YOU ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR - NTT + JARBOE
II VICTVM VERMIS - NTT + DEUTSCH NEPAL
III GUMROT (DECAYING FACE EDIT) - NTT + FRAGMENT KING
IV IN THE FOLDS OF THE FLESH - NTT + KRISTOFFER NYSTRÖMS ORKESTER
V SHE THROWS ME TO THE DOGS - NTT + PROMETHEUS BURNING
VI LOVE THEME - NTT + STEVE MOORE
VII PILLARS OF FLESH - NTT + EIDULON
VIII SONNENAUFGANG - NTT + TROUM
IX THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS, DREAMS INEVITABLY LEAD TO HIDEOUS IMPLOSIONS - NTT + THE BIRD CAGE THEATER
The limited boxed edition of THE GOSPELS OF THE GASH will be officially released on Thursday, April 23, 2009.
More information and an audio preview will be forthcoming.

it's been a week already and its been hard to get back into normal living. this weekend it's easter and i think back of a lovely time in altenburg last week. as you know the vebue burned down a week in advance but the organisation found proper replacement (allthough it must be said that i preferred last year's setting).
top bands for friday were tonikom, xabec in slaughter natives and ab ovo. with a special mention for human larvae who replaced the absent control. bought one cassette (broken diode split) and for the rest loads of talking with all the people you normally only see at MFest. the sound could have been better, but the location was good. the toilets remained clean(ish) the whole evening !!
the second day was in the cellar of the local beer brewery. the sound was not as good as the day before, but it could have been worse even. it's hard to make concrete a willing partner in concerts ;-) bands of the day were mandelbrot and atrox for me. for the rest i was mostly tired from the friday and the bad air (thanks to atrox' fogmachine *heheh*)
got some albums from Jouni and Stoefi as well as the new A-Z releases. lots of listeningstuff ahead with special mentioning of the new Hymen releases (tonikom and hecq (!!!))
life is good, live is better. but it remains the question how much miles one drives for watching a few bands ... 1000 miles in one weekend is a lot for europe ... but, on the other hand, are we ther for watching bands, or meeting friends?
good to see so many of you there :-)
